Matt both of your B&W photos are beautiful, but for some reason they don't fit on the screen and I have to scroll to see the entire contents. Are they oversized for the site?
The light is bad ... yet you have managed to capture a whole tonal panoply. Light like this is truly a challenge. I did not fret one instant with this fine print, as each tone has a 'proper place'.
I echo Brady with the 'too big picture' complaint; a picture which I am forced to downsize. For shame, you and others. - David Lyga
Thanks everyone for the comments. Hint seriously being considered Andrew .
As for the size of the image - the former APUG gallery system required very small files (850 pixels on the longest side), and I have had a lot of problems in the past with how that system rendered the files I resized for that purpose.
The new Photrio system permits much larger files (2048 pixels per side) so I decided to take advantage of that. These seem to render in a much more reliable way. One hint - on my desktop and laptop computers a single click on the displayed image changes the display into one that exactly matches the display screen size, and provides an uncluttered background as well. For those of you who view on a phone or smaller tablet, I would appreciate hearing whether that works for you. If not, I'll consider going back to 850 pixels.
