Yep, Acros is known for those smooth tones. I like this shot, and like all the Fords from that era. They had the over and under headlights only from 1965 to 1968 I believe, and these Galaxies w/ 427 engines were racing against the 426 and 440 Mopars at tracks like Daytona. The one above probably has a 390 V8.
The Country Sedan was the mid line wagon trim for 67, above the Ranch Wagon and below the Country Squire. Standard engine was the 240 6 cylinder, with 289 V8, 390 (both available with either 2 or 4 bbl carbs) and 428 optional. As a mid range car, my guess it probably has a 289. I can't quite read the badge on the fender, that would say!
Pretty sure the first number on the engine tag on the fender is a 4 which would make it a 428. My best friend my senior year of high school had (access to) the Mercury version of this car, a '63 or '64 model (side by side headlights). It had a remarkably tight turning radius for this size, and if tuned up a bit better (so it didn't waste a couple seconds coughing when you tromped the pedal) would have been quick.
Worth noting, premium was 35 cents a gallon when those were built...

I went with them to New Brighton State Beach one summer.
They used The Ford to tow their trailer.
Must have been about 1969 or 1970.

Thanks everyone for all the comments, it’s great learning a bit about the car. I’m actually surprised at the number of old cars I’m finding. Obviously I’m at an advantage here in California, but I’m still surprised. A good number of the cars I find are in my neighborhood, which is the Sunset here in San Francisco.
