For Michel and Robert

Found this little fella beside my greenhouse; he must have hit the glass and had a bad fall. So I held an impromptu funeral for him. I pushed down a magnolia leaf on a patch of clover, wheat, rye and vetch and then took a few shots to document the sad little sendoff.

Haven't decided yet what to do with him (i.e. which bed of my garden he'll be buried in), but I have decided to harden up the emulsion and cast it onto some better paper. This is just a quick scan of the lift on some drying paper.

Emulsion lift with 4x5" Fuji fp100c.

Moving story and an interesting photo. Reminded me of a photographer called 'Kate Breakey' who did some truly beautiful hand coloured photos of dead birds.

Very nice, Keith. A wonderful story and I enjoy the emulsion transfer technique.

Thanks so much. The wheat or wheat grass looks like you gave him a hero's wreath.
Beautiful image.

Michel
