Flowers

Did a workshop a couple of weeks ago with the folks from New55 film. It's a little tricky to master, but it was fun to finally play around with this film. Not sure how I managed to get some slight solarization, and pulling the material from the holder is tricky to ensure developer spreads evenly.

Sometimes grandeur is small. I like the light-hearted subject, focus.

What a really cool look! If that is what solarization is, it has a terrific effect. Looks like the New 55 needs a little more work in the spread of developer. I believe that the exposure value can be chosen to favor either the print or the negative. With the Pol. PN55 exposed at EI 50 the negative came out right. With EI 100 the positive came out looking ok, but the negative suffered.

Well, the solarization is a bit more obvious on the neg, kind of along the edge of the out of focus flower along the top of the frame, but there are also some odd development artifacts along the right side. I'd venture to suggest that even at 100iso, the prints wouldn't look all that great. It's really better to get a good neg. I like the inconsistency of it, and was happy with this, even with its flaws.
