The flowers keep my interest, but I'm very partial to the frame in the background. Since you're asking in the critique forum I'll give it my best. I love the tones and the color of the print. The delicate details in the buds is intricate, interesting, and oddly enough arranged and composed that it keeps my interest. Beautiful.
But that frame kills it for me. I'm sorry. It just looks out of place.
Thanks Thomas, for your comments. Indeed that is why I post in the critique forum. The frame was included intentially. I already know I like the shot, that's why I worked on it for houres in the darkroom. Posting it here is mainly to hear what others think of it, so thanks again for an honest critique
Very nice both. Would you care to comment further on the developer used for these two flower shots. I have been trying to get pink tones on Fomatone without much sucess-always too beige.

i too like the frame, i think because it gives some kind of frame of reference..(no pun intended). i love the shot and the lith treatment of it...it is quietly beautiful....and i like the other shot as well!~~~marianne
Mark, the developer in this case was Maco's Superlith. The pink appaers only after I couple of 12x14 sheets have past through 2 liters of diluted developer.
