Flow

Trying to start a small semi-abstract series with a water theme. Looking for texture and tone (but aren't we all...!). Not sure if this works or not?
Location
Applecross, North West Highlands, Scotland
Equipment Used
Pentax 67II,135 macro lens
Film & Developer
dr5 reverse processed Ilford SFX
Gavin the water on the LHS is falling downwards whereas on the RHS it appears to be moving upwards. This makes the shot very eye catching and adds to the abstract quality of it. I would however be inclined to crop out that dark band at the bottom corner.

Cheers
Vincent

I'm not sure it's abstract enough... have you tried cropping it into a panoramic shape so you can see neither the source or the exit of the water but you maintain the interesting semi-circle and the vertical pillars of water? Just an idea.

I think this is really well done, Gavin. Is this the Developer II Sepia? The SFX seems to work reallly well with Dr5. The examples on their web site are very nice too!
If you are to do any cropping, while maintaining the most abstract feel, I think you should crop from the left until you have a perfect square. To my eyes, that's how the image gains most momentum, impact, and balance. Basically, lose both the black bottom and top corners on the left.
Wonderful work either way, Gavin. This is really beautiful!
