..just wondering if older barbers in Manitoba are Italian as well (as they often are in NYC, Boston Baltimore). After all I've eaten in Greek owned diners on 2 continents

Not generally, or any more than any portion of the population. Barbers are an endangered species these days...this is an interesting shop, there's a picture of this barber's grandson taking a snip from a customer's hair -- with that snip, there officially was FIVE generations of the same family, working out of that space. Quite an interesting spot.
