I rarely shoot in the landscape format these days but thought i would try these two flame lilies together as part of my series of more exotic flower portraits.
Very cool! I love the symmetrical composition (with a bit of weight to the left side as if to get a diagonal), and the stems crossing. Nicely done!

Flame lilies! I love 'em. Brings back memories of when Zimbabwe was a better place to live. We used to see these in large numbers by Vic falls, and they were a proud addition to any Rhodesian/Zimbabwean garden. Two things I miss most: flame lilies and gem squash!
Good composition and contrast. One thought though: if you rotate it, you can almost get an impression of reflection. Also, because the flame lily blossoms naturally appear to be upside down (to me anyway), you might also find some interest with that.
Thanks Keith for your suggestion i might just try that, would love to see these lilies in situ like you have rather than shipped in an air tight bag from some far away country! Nevertheless they are quite special. These were lit by natural daylight.
