I don't think the +2 stops are excessive, since it permits viewing the interior of the boat on the near left. Otherwise it would have been in shadow, I think. Nice work.
I agree, but ... I have problems using TMY400 - I'm used to TriX or the chromogenic films ... For me, TMY400 is not easy to use in 'difficult' lightning -
maybe I've to try another developer ...
Nice, it reminds me of John Singer Sargent water color paintings of boats. Some people say that D-76 has bit of a tendency to blow out highlights. Developers like Xtol or D-23 might be easier on highlights in high contrast scenes.
@bluechromis Yes, I'm not comfortable with TMY400 and D-76 - I got better results with Tetenal Ultrafin or TMAX developer regarding backlight or high -contrast scenes.
