Fishermen's hut, Lake Tonle Sap, Cambodia

I do admire greatly your photos from Cambodia. Serenity and industry in this photo in mankind's life journey. My attraction to these photos from the boxes and boxes of slides and hundreds of feet of super8 film Dad brought back from his time in Vietnam (many along the lower mekong, in the delta). He brought back life in those slides and movies from a place riddled with senseless loss and destruction and taught me to respect and appreciate all people and cultures.

If its possible for me to say w/out being overdramatic - "...taught me to respect..." is profound. 'Maybe one of the most noble things 'the universal language' can do.
For whatever reason, looking at this imposes a mood for me - and Michael's comment about respect seems well aimed. Evidence of a different land & people - just dealing w/ the universal needs - daily bread (or fish & rice). 'An odd combination of serenity and like my muscles almost ache from knowing all the work involved. Speaking of which, I'd better get another 100 cedar trees in the ground from the logging.

Beyond sharing the technical and aesthetical aspects of a photograph, it is certainly very satisfactory when a photo conveys the same emotions that moved me to capture that particular image.
This was one of the best days of that trip - photographically speaking. Great light, no visual clutter and images that tell stories. It hardly gets any better.
