Fisheating creek

Fisheating creek

One of my new favorite places to shoot in Florida! I was standing up to my waist in water and just as I released the shutter somthing took two chomps on my toe, fortunately I was wearing water shoes. You've never seen anyone jump in a boat as quick as I did....

That is a fantastic photo that I will surely never duplicate. As a rule, I stay away from things that chomp on any part of my body.

I love this photo! I like how the use of the red filter has made the Spanish Moss look almost like you used IR film. I also like how everything distorts toward the middle. I am not familiar with the camera/lens you used, but the effect is very cool! Just enough to show distortion, but not enough for me to get dizzy from the 'motion'. haha!
Thanks for risking your toes for this one!

Masterful. So much going on. So that's a 47mm lens on a 4x5 camera? Wow, that is wide!
I like how the distortion in the corners helps lead me into the scene, to some extent similarly to the water flow. Very beautiful capture!

...and I thought my 65mm was wide on a 4x5. That 47mm makes a nice scene. With a longer focal length you probably would still have had a good shot, but this wide angle adds a little extra.

up here where i'm at in florida it would have been a cotton mouth that did the munching...the snapping turtle would have bitten through any shoes and a gator would have been lookin you in the eyes...beautiful photograph! i have none from this vantage...call be chicken...

They were just gentle love taps but I got out of the water fast anyway:smile:
Thank you all for the kind words. The edge distortion has been an issue with this lens. I sent it back to Germany for repair and it is much better but I would still prefer it to be sharper. My 58xl is sharp as a tack but I love the extra width of the 47...

Awesome perspective. I feel like I'm being swallowed up by the scene. I bet a large print would be a truly immersive experience.

All the best,
Daniel

This place is very close to me--may have to visit soon now that the bugs are taking a winter nap--great work
