This photo was taken on a club trip to great barrier this year. Taken on HP4 developed. This is a scan from the negative as i haven't had chance to make a print of this. and usually my prints are larger than a4 which is too big for my scanner.
May I say,"Wow!" I would like to see something to balance the heavy dark side on the right, either a little more detial in the left or maybe a slight crop, but of course, this is a personal choice.
I like this. I'm with Robert on the detail on the left. Very nice photo. New Zealand has such an interesting environment for photography!
I noticed a something of a halo where your dark areas meet lighter ones. As I have seen this on some of my own negatives, I was wondering what the cause is...
Joeyk The halo is due to dodging in computer not very good at it. But the negative is ok. I agree the area on the left is bit too dark for i liking as well but the negative is very thin and almost no detail in this area. I may be able to print out some detail when I do a darkroom print. Does anyone has any suggestions as to how should I print this area in the darkroom. I am still learning how to print properly.
