when I saw this I thought it was a gas mask for horses for war time poison attacks, not fire, still really cool.

I would not want to be the guy to put this on a horse. "Let stubby put it on the horse, he has one good arm left"

Thanks all for the kind comments! Yes, some of the things in the museum were somehow bizzare (e.g. also the display dummy dressed in the uniform and wearing sunglasses) - but that made it interesting! Heinz
