Fire Escape

Love fire escapes. Did an entire study on them in Van Dyke Brown a while back. Went all over into all kinds of towns and walked the back aleys.Like your shot. Makes we want to go see some more fire escapes.

I was drawn to the almost abstract geometry of it- horizontal lines of brick, verticals of the bannister and doorframes, broken by the diagonals of the staircase itself.

I rather like this. Very acutely composed.
