Find the cost of freedom - 21 guns

Documenting my friends fathers funeral. I wasn't sure about intruding with a camera, but later my friend said he was going to ask me to bring it but thought it would be presumptuous. His father was a Marine and so I expected the usual fat old guys from the VFW to be there. I didn't know he was a retired full colonel and would be receiving full military honors.

It was an f-22 day and the yellow filter was quite unnecessary, rendering the light blue trousers very close to the navy blue tunics. Contrast lowered and slightly lightened for posting. I have eliminated any family, etc.

The family reaction has been gratifying, but I really am unable to judge my own work. Your criticism is desired.

Thank you.

The composition I will take credit for. It's a portrait crop out of a landscape shot. I wanted all 3 heads in focus and was constricted by the door frame which is just off the right hand crop and family just to the left. Focus point is half the distance between the flagmen. I knew the firing squad would be out of focus but wanted them recognizable so I closed down as far as I could while keeping the shutter to 1/60.

The credit for the light, on the other hand, goes to the camera and especially to the leeway of Tmax 400. The center-weighted meter was pointed between the nearest marine's shoulders, the darkest spot in the picture.
