Homemade emulsion, hand-coated on dry plate.
Dark corners from just how the light fell. However, it seems to highlight the word well which tempted me to post it. I'll tinker with framing the word
 
It looks like it takes enough light outdoors, while inside the dark parts are really blackened with no details. What's the dev you bath your plates in? The resolution of the plate is just terrific.
 
Yes I definitely don't have any lighting for use indoors, so I have to make do. Not a new problem in photography. . However...

This photo was developed in either working strength Dektol or HC-110 Dil B. I didn't think those were aggressive enough developers...the plate is very thin. So I tried Dil A HC-110 for the "derelict" and "marsh" photos I also posted. They developed very fast! So much so that I will probably adjust my exposure times.
