Fall Colors, Maspeth, 2008

It's the ol' artist's window gambit again.

This is a view of Grand Avenue, the main drag in Maspeth, Queens, just beyond the houses in the foreground, and then the Manhattan skyline in the distance. You can see the Empire State Building through the clump of trees on the left.

Originally a 4x10" transparency made on an 8x10" camera with the half-darkslide method.

Digitized from two frames stitched manually from a Nikon Coolpix 990 on a copy stand with a light box.

I love the triangles foreground, plus they lead the eye into the city nicely. An unusual view of Manhattan for sure.
