Face on Semi

Face on Semi

I found this behind my local grocery store handheld. I like the way the semi's line up together and the face peering out from the side. Seemed interesting to me. I like occassionally doing handheld work because it causes you to look for compositions in everything and it allows you to shoot things you would never consider with MF or Large Format...especially when you only have a few minutes to get home with the groceries.

Great composition and printing. I agree with you about handheld work, lately I've been using an old rangefinding folder and it can be pretty liberating, no meter or filters or tripod. Fun to travel light now and again...

I love hand held and wish I could shoot everything that way. I think this shot is great.

Proves that each photograph is mainly about subject matter and an interesting presentation. Wonderful photograph, John! (that Varycon looks good in Dektol - as long as you tone it to tone out the green... )
