I look at a colour thumbnail and if the colour looks right I open it for full view. Everytime I do this on colour alone I find that it is always Portra. I think I have yet to find a bad Portra example. This is really good stuff and has lost nothing for being 9 years old.
Fortunately, they use tennis balls which have limited flight and my living room window is behind the corner of my garage, down the first base line. However, Mike, the owner of the house in the pic, frequently throws BP to his 7-year old son who already has an amazingly sweet swing. If you check out the autumn color Velvia shot off my porch that I posted a couple weeks ago, you will see the same house from right beside my living room window. If that kid gets any better, I will fear for my window. He's already putting line drives into my open garage on a couple bounces.
Yeah, I got some 2005 expired Portra 400 VC on ebay last year. 120 format in a TLR. Similarly good quality for being so old. I set my exposure index for EI 200 and it's just right. That is some super good film.Did you set your exposure index for the original 160, or did you allow an extra stop for its age?
