Thomas, I think this is the the better version, as it has her attention and shows more interaction between the camera and subject.

I like them both, this maybe the more serious one, and both are great. However, I think the more relaxed shot shows a deeper connection, and more of a lowered guard, and in a way a more vulnerable capture.. A diptych might work, showing both sides of this lovely young lady.

cant go wrong with either but this one has that deep thoughtful connection ... a bit more intimate connection with the sensitive photographer I think ...

I like this one over the other for sure. So much more powerful. Smile photo's always seem so forced when this is actually the way people are most of the time.

Thanks, Steve. I'm inclined to agree with you, but I've decided that I don't need to pick one over the other. I'm just going to keep both.
