Emlenton Bridge 2

4x5 silver contact print

More fun with warmtone and selenium. This time in a more neautral developer. Amidol is next on the list.

Shawn, I really like this a lot. The gesture of the frame is great, and it feels much more balanced that your previous upload.
I read it starting in the upper right hand corner, going across the bridge to the left, down through the dark shrubs on the left, and further down to the shrub in the front, and up the reflection of and the bridge support and start over again. It flows very naturally like that, and to boot you have just exquisite tones and textures. It doesn't get much better than that, in my humble opinion.

Shawn, I prefer this shot to your previous version and it is because the bridge is level across the top of the photo and you have included the river. I would be tempted to crop up to the river's edge on the right hand side. The shadows under the bushes on the left hand side would then form a natural border.

Cheers
TEX

Thank you all. Thomas, that's very similar to how I read it as well. Interesting to hear someone else articulate that. All the best. Shawn
