Thanks Andrew. I think the yellow filter DOES make the process easier - pre-exposing paper is a pain, really - but it also controls the contrast MUCH better than pre-flashing (in my experience) does. I have never had paper negs on MGIV that came close to having as full a tonal range as these experimental images display. I am SO grateful to APUG members for suggesting this method. (Why it didn't occur to me in the first place, I do not know!) Thank you!
Nice one! Hey am I the only seeing a distorted head lying on it's side on the right hand side of the image? Kind of looks like dolls head only bigger. Roger
