el cap 2000 yosemite self port

here is the top out of my 1st el cap climb. me and my partner chris.

aurora 5.8R A4. 6 nights and 7 days on the wall.

we rescued a pro photographer that had dropped in to shoot us. we did not know him till them. he was stuck due to an error on his part. as a result he joined out team. i have some great photos he gave us but i do not feel comfortable posting them as i did not take the shots (i have permission to use them!). one got into a climbing rag many moons ago.

Did you rappel the drop or just climb the peak? I've heard from several cavers who've done the drop and had a heck of a good time of it.

You both look suitably parched and haggard! Never done a big wall myself - must be great to top out, not to mention the first shower and restaurant meal afterwards!!!

thanks guys. we climbed up and walked off....the next day. and it was a hell walk off.

yes, the shower was long and great. pizza never tasted so great.....and a proper toilet.....!
