Shot taken in May on a week long trip to Scotland. It rained for most of the week. Sun was coming in and out so there was a bit of waiting around. Really like the sky in this.
Applogies to anyone from Scotland as this castle has been photographed to death and I am sure your fed up of us tourist posting pictures of it:-)
I am sure there are 'local places' i everyone's areas that qualify as being done to death but that does mean we should not make images of them ourselves. Yes this does have a powerful sky too!
It may have been shot to death but when you see another good shot like this, you can understand why. Something I hadn't notice before is the way that both buildings seem to lean to the left. It is more obvious in the building nearest the righthand edge as the edge allows a perpendicular against which to measure it. After 100s of years, the building might well be leaning or it might be an optical illusion.
I am pretty sure it isn't the photographer as the horizon looks spot on.
OR is it my eyes? Does anybody else see the same thing?
pentaxuser: Well spotted, I see this too. When I had the buildings straightened up on the easel and did my first print the horizon was off so I am not sure what is going on myself. Might it be the lens?. I really don't know why the buildings are leaning. Had a look on Flicker at other peoples shots from this angle and the building does not lean....
