I wish I could give you reasons why this one is much more evocative and generates more emotion than the other which I assume is the same abandoned coal hoppers.

I can't but it conveys a kind of gentle, serene abandonment. Maybe the setting and trees convey this better.

I'd look at this picture if I wanted a scene to calm me down. I'd go here to read a book and think about things.

This is one of the most beautiful shot of rolling stock that I've seen in... decades!
