early spring in colour

This image sort of makes me wonder if there is something I'm doing wrong, or the 90mm I'm using has some fall off on the edges.

Strangely its most apparent with chromes (like this one) and barely visible in negatives. Is this 'counter-able' or should I be using a center filter?
