Hi Tony and Murray,

Thanks for the very kind words. I believe that this was the home of Captain Carter who used to take tour groups through the Thimble Islands which are near New Haven, CT. This is the 2nd of two photos I believe taken the same morning. Captain Kidd was known to have traveled and hidden in the Thimble Islands. It is rumored (but never found) that his treasure was buried in these Islands. The Islands consist of many small islands with relatively large houses set on them. I have been told that the houses rely on DC rather than AC for electricity and that Jane Pauley and Garry Trudeau have a home on one of these islands. Rich

Gorgeous colors on this one, I particulary like the warm light on the boat, and the subtle color of the sky - this is what I call "capturing the moment". Well done, well done.

Thanks for the very kind words. You know the lighting in these conditions changes quickly. As I recall, I only had a few minutes to capture the subtle color in the sky, the gold light on the house, the warm light on the boat and its reflection before the light went from gold to blue. The image captures quiet light and as you say this is "capturing the moment".
