strange effect almost like a 'Digital HDR' process -- I have been there myself with my Pentax 6x7 and Fuji Velvia and those Rockies had the SAME snow areas on them 35 years ago !

Take a look at the glacier, it would be half he size today compared o 35 years ago.

Our mountains are hurting.

Unfortunately neither shot shows a difference in the glaciers higher up on the mountain. It would be interesting to see the difference in the glacier coming out of Dead man's pass to the valley floor
