I agree...this is beautiful. One nit, though, is that where the sky darkens, it does so (on my monitor at least) quite suddenly. Perhaps it was really that way, but it looks too sharply deliniated to me.
The sky looks fine on my monitor... ah the wonders of the digital age!
Actually Dan I would like to see less sky and more forground. Or crop it as a panoramic. Other than that I like the feeling of the photo very much.
Take away nothing! The way you 'tightly' cropped the light sweeping lines at the bottom left and right side of the foreground contrast perfectly with the feeling of space in the sky.
Thank you all for the very kind comments. jovo, I've seen similar artifacts with low res scans of my prints- I don't see it on the actual print. Gene, I had originally printed this as a panoramic, but I felt cropping the sky diminished the overall sense of vastness. After living in the midwest for a few years, I've become a bit more accustomed to the open spaces, but still have a sense of vulnerability.
