Here is the 4x5 version of an image I posted previously. I've had a bit of trouble getting it scanned to my satisfaction (the top edges are a bit dropped off, which bothers me).
This may sound strange, but I don't mind the dark corners. This is a beautiful image. I love everything about it; the early morning sun on the branches and grasses, as well as the sharpness through out. Just Splendid!
Thanks all. The vignetting isn't as noticeable on the transparency. However, I do have a bad habit of raising that front standard too far. FWIW, I love Outback Australia, and this type of scene is why.
Great picture, Robert. So I gather there is some vignetting on the trannie? I agree that the image still works very well. That tree is one of the most photographed trees in Australia - I know it well. The Devils Marbles would be in my top three photographic places in this whole massive country.
Another beautiful shot Robert. I am thinking of doing a little colour work with 5x4, what do you print your trannies on? There seems to be little choice over here for colour neg.
Regards,
Tony
Tony, all my stuff is printed on Fuji Crystal Archive using a Chromira printer (you need a high resolution drum scan for this). You are right, there are very few places where you can get an optical print any longer. In Australia, I imagine the choices are even more limited.
Here in the US, we have the Devil's Tower, Devil's Punchbowl, Devil's Garden, Devil's Postpile, and the Devil's playground. You have the Devil's Marbles. Sounds kind of personal.
