this is one of the best portraits I've ever seen...not sure why...but it looks great! ...kind of has the 1890's look except for the image fading into the surrounding white (which I love)

I wonderful portrait. I am having trouble with the hot spot in the upper right corner. A bit distracting.

Great detail and texture in garment. It even shows well on the thumbnail which is unusual. An oval opening to give vignette which either fades to white or an oval mask to cover the person and fade to black would suit the period look that has been mentioned and would eliminate the hot spot.

An interesting image, certainly is not one of the best portraits I have ever seen, but regardless has a lot of merit. I do not like the hot spot in the top corner. It would help
a lot if taken care of. The squared shoulders to camera with the traps under each arm add nothing to make a stronger image. With shoulders squared like these my first though is a half back ready to break off left tackle. Not at all feminine or desirable within the limits of my training. The image here cropped to the V of the sweater neck
with the corner fixed and the top of her head included would go a long way in making this image a better Portrait. Seems to be well exposed, but with only a neg scan it's hard to say. Would like to see the finished print of this one.

Why do so many of the posted portraits have heads cut off?

thanks for the translation... the hot spot doesn't bother me at all...although I'm not a portrait photog. Love it still...

Thank you for the translation, I now understand the motivation for Pepperez to do the head chopping, if he is satisfied with it, so am I! But I do feel that many others like myself will not make the connection and will need further explanation. Looking forward to seeing many more images of this attractive model.

I have none of the troubles that Charles has. With no offense but this kind of troubles usually come from a specific photographic training which creates that psychological limitation or you could say irritation in viewing. I like body parts connecting to or escaping outside of the frame.
It is a very feminine portrait of a real woman with a strong personallity.
Yo no tengo ninguna problema como Charles.
Es un retrato muy feminino de una verdadera mujer de fuerte personalidad. Gracias Pepperez.
