Nice shot. Last time I was anywhere near Portsoy was over 50 years ago where such a group would have been almost unimaginable in a N.E. fishing town where the population was ultra conservative with a small "c"

I’ve only visited the southern UK, but I thought this an unlikely spot for a drum circle. Not an expert, but the drums look African. Were the rhythms they were playing African? And I should add, this is great photo, and while the image content supersedes thoughts of technique, that too is certainly well done.
Yes clearly not native Portsoy drums and the strange thing is that once in the N.E. of Scotland all drums make the same sound as the drums of the Gordon Highlanders a sound that can make the hair at the back of my neck stand on end
@artonpaper Thanks. You're correct that these are West African drums according to the facebook link in my reply to PU. I really like this photo in mono, but can't help wondering why I didn't take a colour shot with my phone as well!
