First of a series of pinhole still life images. Made with a home-made MDF 95mm f238 4x5 camera. Ilford MGIV paper negative, preflashed and exposed for 20 minutes.
This is one of those shots that you miss from the thumbnail, it's quite beautiful and seems to me to have religious overtones, don't know why, just the impression that I get.
Thank you, Tony. You are very perceptive. This one forms part of a series which plays with parallels between the desire for flight and spiritual growth. I wouldn't necessarily use the word "religious" but the arch-shaped mirror was included to evoke thoughts of sacred places. As the other parts of this reach completion I am posting them on my blog www.marktweedie.co.uk/blog and over at f295.org.
