Drakensberg, SA

Perhaps the most incredible place I've ever been to. This was taken toward the end of a long drive, and the light was fantastic. The bottom area just glows on a full 8x10 print.

I was keeping a watchful eye out for a rather aggressive troop of baboons, that earler on had taken a shining to my camera. Bad Baboons!

This was printed on Forte Fortezo and developed in Ilford WT. Split thio and selenium toning took some experimenting to get right. This paper is so receptive to selenium - quite incredible and a real shame it is no more. Got around 300 grade 2 and 3 sheets left in 9 1/2 by 12. I'm saving the rest for a definite series, although I am as yet unsure on what that will feature.

Sorry about the scan.

Yes, that lower sunlit area is special. My screen is dark, but I'm hoping there's detail in the large central hillside since it is so large a part of the image. Nice job!

Beautiful ! The lighted part with so small trees gives to the landscape monumental touch ... Perfectly printed. r.

Well, I have a calibrated screen, and yes, there is detail...

Fantastic image!

The highlighted trees in the bottom really lend the necessary perspective to the image. Now you can really feel the height and size of the looming dark mountain formation in the back.
