drained_lake_tree

A while back a local bird observatory lake was drained because of some duck disease. Many trees there are rooted in the actual bed of the lake(actually a large pond really) so when it was drained this was the scene.

Very nice! I love the tree in the cracked earth & those clouds are a perfect counterpoint!

Now that is texture. I like this. The back-lighting is very effective, setting off the branches and then tending to a black (almost a vignetting effect) at the top. And the ground, well, what's not to love about that!

(If it were mine...I'd burn all the edges, then burn some more in the corners to balance things out).
