The Kansas City Photo Outing was a great success. Alex Hawley, my daughter and I all finished the day with several keepers.
We started the day meeting up with a Scout Photography Explorer Troop. These are the scout advisors getting a kick out of the a couple of guys using our old-fashioned cameras.
Drew,
The rest of the guys are not APUGers. They are part of the Explorer Scout Photography Post. They all are, or were, employed in the field of photography.
The Post's objective is to give high school kids the opportunity to learn techniques and get feedback from working professionals on their work.
The kids also have the opportunity to build a personal portfolio from the outings.

It was a great day. The hours felt like minutes...
Wow. How cool. I used to work at Club 427 back when it was open and spent months of my life right where you guys are in this shot. Makes me miss home.
Just tell me you didn't go to Winslows for BBQ. Because Don (RIP) while a great guy, wasn't the BBQ god that Arthur Bryant was.
For a great bit of photoethnography, slide up the block to Huong Vien (the asian grocery that is in the next block - not the one with the yellow sign) and prowl around. Or go across the street and get a portrait of Vito at Cascone's.
