Downtown Austin - 7x17 Ambrotypes

Wet plate collodion on black glass.
After pouring some collodion last weekend in Calif, I had a big itch to get out and pour some plates. Spent saturday morning out making a few 7x17 ambrotypes in downtown Austin.
Location
Austin, TX
Equipment Used
12x20 Folmer & Schwing 12" brass lens
Exposure
4secs wide open
Great crop and the ambrotype adds so much atmosphere here

These are great. It appears you decided to disregard my useful tip about sticking your thumb in the corner of the collodion on the plate by accident. Still, it is a very beautiful picture even without a disfiguring thumbprint.

I'd get much better blacks if it were Azo.

Clay I will try and remember next time, the thumb collodion tear adds much character.
