Battered old door and gleaming key in a Tuscan door. I included the strip of yellow wall to complement the main door colour and tie in where the blue-green had peeled.
Seems to me that there is something very special about the Tuscan Light. It made that velvia 50 look soft and pastel like. Great composition expecially adding the yellow next to the blue.
This was shot in shade under an archway in the early afternoon, which enabled the film to hold the contrast range.
The village is incredibly scenic. So much so that a film crew had been shooting here a few days before and had covered the road with dust, covering tarmac, so that it looked medieval. This dust had somewhat "migrated" by the time we were there, but there was still plenty to shoot. Oddly, I came away with two shots of tatty doors and nothing else! We needed more time really - and an ice-cream.........
