I was following a wedding at Huitzo and discovered that it was a doble ceremony, the baptism of the children of the couple that will get married and the wedding itself. When the priest start to drop the holly water over the girl, the guy at my right light his video camera and illuminate the scene, so I turned off my flash and used the video light.
good choice regarding the lighting. The on camera flash has a tendency to flatten the subject and create really atrocious shadows when it is used incorrectly.
I love the dynamic nature and light of this picture. Also the the man in the back with the child watching is great. Both the light and the setup with the look-through to the man with the child, remind me of religious paintings. If you have more of this wedding, I would definitely be interested to see some others posted here on APUG!
The man in the back is the father-groom, the boy in his arms is the next to be baptized... I have to check my contact prints for more of this wedding to print... I remember another good image, lets see if it worth...
If you can find the family again, maybe through the church, I bet they would love a print. It is the least you can do, since they allowed you to partake and get such a fantastic moment on film.
I know how to contact them and I'll give away some prints next July, I'll be working in the neighborhood by then... I allways give prints of my work to the people I can see again, this opens me a lot of doors
