If you mean Bristle-cone pine (Pinus aristata) and the picture was taken around or above 8000 feet somewhere in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado or west into S.E. California, probably. If any part of the tree is alive and has needles in bunches of 3, even more likely.
You can easily tell by the needles on the tree. They look like little bottle brushes. As to location of them, they are right by me as well. At around 7500 to 8000 Ft. elevation on Cedar Mountain. Quite a large forest of them in all stages of growth and age.
