It seems to get worse and worse. Amongst youngsters here in the Netherlands, it seems to be utterly "cool" to dump anything everywhere you want. So, finished your half little bottle of energy drink?, don't look for the nearest trash bin!, even if it is a meter away, dump it over your shoulder...
Last year, I was on holiday on one of the beautiful "Wadden isles" we have here in Holland. I could follow the "trash-trail" from a camping site to the nearest super market. It angers me each time again, and I have no clue as to what most of the current parents do to raise their kids to allow this behaviour.
In the small city of London, Ontario, Canada (where I grew up) it was pretty bad - people would dump large items into public parks - refrigerators, old couches, etc. Now that I've moved out to Beijing, however, it's waaaaaay worse. Nobody seems to care about littering here - most parts of the city are constantly covered in trash and I see people young and old who toss bottles, cigarette packaging, and whatever other rubbish wherever they please. There are people hired to constantly go around picking up trash from the sidewalks and streets but my personal feeling is that this only encourages the litterbugs. I'm doing my best to set an example but in a city of around 30 million people it's a tough gig.
Looks like someone was using that monitor as a target; I have contemplated similar stress relief, but I always remove any mess from the range. There is no excuse for trashing a place like that ...
Thanks for your submission. No you did not break any rules, I only had one rule that was in my first post that it must be as you found it not staged. And yes it is a disgrace but municipalities make it difficult to discard certain items.
From my experience, these are the same people that question my use of gasoline, paper, plastic, etc., all of which I try to use responsably. "Do as I say, not as I do!"
