Direct Positive Paper

this is a lantern slide printed on Ilford Direct Positive paper. It took a bit to override my darkrrom habits. Getting the contrast under control wasn't too difficult, I pre-flashed the paper, and used dilute developer.

I was hired by a collector to print some of his negatives and a few lantern slides. He doesn't remember where he got this slide. Googling the caption I found an eBay listing for a stereoscope card of this image. The seller has dated it 1900.
