The same pose would suggest someone with a narrow personality, while changing the pose suggests more facets. Consider a subject in sports kit versus a business suit. There is a behavior and stance that goes with each. The choice of late Victorian/early Edwardian (?) clothes and hair is interesting, and I like the presentation.

Is that one 4x5 negative or two?

Did you change her pose on purpose? I think the comparison would be more striking if she had the same pose in both frames. Either way, excellent images of a compelling model.
It was Zoe's idea to bring the Victorian outfit and I wanted her to have the freedom of posing as she wished in each of the portraits.

I like this a lot - first one, hands together, hair up, formal clothing makes me think of civilized reserved tension - second one, hands apart, hair down, and nude leads to openness, naturalness and a relaxed feeling. At least that is my reaction.

I really like this diptych. I like the choice of poses as well, it's an interesting choice in the Victorian costume the girl looks straight at the camera but in the nude shot she looks away wistfully. It works exceptionally well. Ian
