Thanks. I've been shooting a lot more than usual, lately. I'm making an effort to work more "loosely", taking more chances, both while shooting, and in the darkroom. I had no idea what the rubilith filter would do, but I'm happy with the results. I really like the sepia/gold combo, too.
If I've gained anything from the extra shooting, it's not only to learn from my mistakes, but to exploit them.
Yes, this is sweet. If you mixed the sepia yourself, may I ask: did you titrate towards the yellow, or the brown? You really got a lot of color out of that paper.
Rich- I'm using the Kodak Sepia. I don't bleach to completion, watching the tones as they appear. I'm finding that the gold is more colorful if I don't let the sepia go all the way. The gold seems to work best (and I'm new at it, and still learning) if the sepia is at zone VI, or so.
I'm actually surprised by the response of the MGIV. I tried the same image on the MGWT, and the response wasn't as colorful.
Thanks, all. I just finished matting the 4x4 inch print to 11x11, and framed it. It will hang on my booth at the Bethesda Fine Arts Festival this weekend. I'm hoping the public response is as positive as the comments here.
