Taken on the clifftop at Aberystwyth, Wales on a brilliant November day. This old cafe has been replaced by a flash new (and boring!) one. The print shows detail in the white wood which hasn't come out on the scan.
Thanks, I agree about more space, bit I would have fallen off the cliff if I had gone further back, and I haven't got a wider lens! I'm told the building is still there, but very dilapidated - might be worth another trip!
I think this is a print that you showed us at the Norfolk meet Rob. It comes across here as over bright, which must be down to the scan. Still has plenty of drama though.
The whole scene and sun gives it a vintage "Farm Administration" look from the 1930s in the U.S. OK the bottom of the white wood has burned out on the scan but it seems in keeping with harsh bleached effect you'd expect the sun to have if it were a scene from the U.S. mid-West.
Abandoned in the U.K and still no graffitti or vandalism?
This is a great shot! It's a shame about scanning. It never really does a print justice. I think it would therefore be best if you sent it on over to me.
I love that you chose to use a wide angle lens on this to give it a grand scale. Certainly speaks of a past long gone. Thanks for capturing it and sharing it with us.
