Death Valley from Zabriskie Point

yes!! i have a number of shots from the same spot you were standing in....wish i could go back now that i know more about exposures etc...love the color in this one! thanks for posting it and bringing back such good memories. a friend took me here, telling me that it was a place i had to see...when i reached the lookout, he stood back and watched my reaction...it was the only time i remember weeping at the site of something so incredibly beautiful...he smiled...

Death Valley truly is a wondrous place. Did you get over to the sand dunes near Stovepipe Wells? I loved walking on the dunes, even though I didn't get any good photos there. Like you, I want to go back...real bad. Next time I'm hoping to take a 4x5 view camera and a bigger telescope. What a terrific place to just be...and soak up the silence on a clear dark night.
