The first negative on the recent APUG meeting. Everyone walked past this rock, and I thought, Ah sod it, I just love a 'cliche' and went for it. I remember taking a light reading and then compairing that to the pentax spot. They were so different that I went with the cameras reading. It was only later on that morning I realised that I had my camera set at 400 for Delta 100. The Microphen rescued it beautifully.
Stoo,
love the shot, I bet there were 10 shots you could have taken of this rock. I see the one you took and removing the upper half you have a totally different shot.
As far as light meters I always go with the spot. much more percise than a in camera meters.
Anne, Mike and Rob. Thank you all for taking the time to comment.
Mike, yes, I made a few more exposures, only they were ruined by a size 8 footprint in the sand! The spot meter was a new toy, so I had more confidence with the cameras meter on the day. Things have changed now and I would trust the spot meter every time.
Thanks again
Stoo
P.s, as an aside, I am at pains to post here on the galleries as all the beauty and luminence of a print is totally lost as soon as you press that upload button.
