That is the seed pod of an Angel`s Trumpet, a group of hallucinogenic plants from Asia and the American tropics.
Great photo, perfect botanical illustration. I like it even better vertical.

These plants are all over in southern Utah. I love them! (to look at, not to eat.)

Lovely photo. Seems hardly anyone uses D23 any more but I have always thought it has a distinctive "look."
