Dante's View III

This was the third and final exposure I made from Dante's View. I was completely awestruck when we finally rounded the corner and I got my first view of the Badwater salt flats from nearly 6,000feet above with the sun about to set behind Telescope Peak. I took a few moments to try and take it in before I started to work. After shooting down into Death Valley I began to wander around the other side of the little parking lot on top of the world and ended up pearing back down the other side, the way we had come. I loved the shape of the dominant shadow and it's relationship to the road and rippling hills in the background. I don't mean to gush but this place had a profound effect on me, as I'm sure it has had on so many others.

Fantastic, Shawn. I, too, always enjoy the view away from the valley while at Dante's View. You are Mr. Death Valley!

Thank you fellows! This is possibly my favorite image I've made this year. And of course it brings back some great memories. Best. Shawn
