Daniel works at the local Camera store here in Asheville. Couldn't resist the hair! His hair was deep red in color so in wet plate (not red light sensitive) that meant either lose the face to get some detail in the hair or lose the hair. I chose to keep some of his face.

the plate got scratched a bit before varnishing.

Sweet, Monty! This is one of my favorite portraits of yours. Less is definitely more, seems to really cut to the core of this person, makes it both a bit 'mysterious' but approachable at the same time. Nice mood and character.
